During his final years at the University of Valencia, Mario faced one of the hardest moments of his life: his paternal grandmother Margarita Conejero’s Alzheimer’s disease.
Margarita was his role model in every aspect of life. Her exceptional intelligence allowed her to teach herself to read without ever attending school. Together they read countless books, including Treasure Island.

Her loss profoundly marked Mario and drove him to seek ways to prevent others from suffering similar pain. While preparing a presentation on the connection between diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and oral health, he met Dr. Ulrich Volz—an encounter that transformed his career.
In Memory of Víctor Moreno
A treatment room at BDS bears his name
While Mario was training in Switzerland, cancer took his close friend Víctor Moreno, leaving an indelible mark on his heart. In honor of his memory, one of BDS’s treatment rooms bears his name. His memory lives on in every patient who enters that room.
The mentor who changed everything
Dr. Ulrich Volz, a world pioneer in biological dentistry and creator of the Swiss Biohealth concept, became Mario’s mentor. From that moment on, Mario established himself as the leading reference in Integrative Dentistry in Spain.
Today, Dr. Mario Parra is the first Spanish dentist with the title “Specialist in Biological Dentistry and Ceramic Implants” recognized by ISMI and IAOCI, and holds the rank of SDS Ambassador.
